Welcome to this collection of creative and travel photography, plus a selection of writing and design work. Here that awkward word “creative” means photos made for their own sakes – images which might have some meaning or could end up on display somewhere. Some of them look back over a number of years.
Photography was initially just an interest for me, then became a serious hobby, and finally turned into a part of my working life. Today I often combine it with a written narrative – for example the ‘Grand Tour’ section of this site documents a five-week rail tour of towns and cities in Austria, Germany, the Czech Rebublic and Poland, with more than 1,300 images and some 40,000 words.
But single images are important too. I try hard to get them right in-camera, of course, and optimise them in post-production using Photoshop and other software. And as well as collections of photographs on themes such as architecture and shapes there are photos here of the English Lake District and images from overland treks in Iceland and Morocco.
The Highlights panel below shows an overview of the main areas of the site. Many images are available at hi-resolution for commercial or editorial use, and some are available as prints – please contact me if you wish to use an image.
