These images are from my first visit to Venice, in 2004 (though this page is added January 2010). Many of the scenes are familiar, of course, but the textures and rich colours, and the patterns of the moored gondolas, are irresistible. I visited in mid March, and the weather was generally excellent for photography, but with the notorious Venetian mist hanging around the city for some of the time.
