London Marathon
The first time I photographed the London Marathon was in 2000, when I was really there to support my daughter Gill in her first marathon; she finished in a very respectable 4h 15m. My first chance to go back was in 2004, when the weather was miserable, though at least not too hot for the 33,000 runners – photographically I was trying for something a bit more arty. I was there again in 2005, but only for half an hour due to another commitment; details with a couple of the pictures. These images are from the three years. / more...
 

 
Experience has taught me that it's really only possible to get to a couple of places and get decent photos, such are the difficulties of travelling around and getting through the crowds to the 'front row'...
