Garderobe

Garderobe. The superb Museum of Decorative Arts in Berlin – the Kunstgewerbemuseum – has made a bold feature of the internal signposting of its various departments. This is the cloakroom at one side of the foyer, which provides lockable compartments for clothing, rucksacks and camera bags. My old Nikon 20mm f/3.5 manual focus lens on a full frame body was ideal to emphasise the perspective, especially as the designers had helpfully fitted a full height, full width mirror at the far end of the space to double the effect. One of the compartment doors was open and I decided not to move it (it's on the right-hand third, which should keep certain judges happy!). There's a hint of pincushion distortion in the 20mm lens, but it's very low.

Technical: NIKON D800, f=20.0 mm, ISO1250, 1/80 sec @ f11.0
