Splat!

Splat! How big is the splodge of pink paint? Is it lying on a path? Or is it fixed to a vertical wall? I like the ambiguity of this view, which is actually looking up at part of an artwork on the outside wall of the Museum of Modern Art (MUMOK) in the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna. The rounded edges of the paint splodge complement and interact with the black lines of the broad gaps in the blockwork. The finer lines give the image some structure. The splodge is two feet or so across, if I remember correctly; I placed it perfectly on the division of thirds, yet in competition the judge didn't understand or like the picture at all! I followed it up with a another view called 'Splosh!'.
