Grille

Grille. I felt this expanding rising diagonal made quite a strong image, It was taken in the massive Turbine Hall of Tate Modern in London, and I assume the grille is part of the ventilation system. Above it is a hint of the railing that runs along the edge of the top floor – I was careful to keep some detail there. Although the lines of the grille dominate the picture, there is quite a lot of detail (which might be cobwebs or peeling paint!) revealed by a very sharp lens. I also like the texture in the wall and the mottled evening sunlight shining on it through the big window at the end of the Turbine Hall, out of the picture to the left.
