Marx & Engels & Friends

Marx & Engels & Friends. Marx-Engels-Forum is a public park in Berlin, across the River Spree from Museumsinsel (Museum Island) and due east of the Berliner Dom. At its centre is a statue by Ludwig Engelhardt of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, authors of The Communist Manifesto of 1848. The statue remains a tourist attraction, with people climbing up to have their photos taken.

I took a number of hand-held shots when I visited in July 2011, trying to be as consistent as possible with the framing. I chose five – one with no climbing visitors – and lined them all up in Photoshop. Then spread them out to get a nice arrangement of what might be a family of four (I don't think it is). At present there's a hard line in the background between each image, although it's not that obvious and I'm quite happy for this to be seen as five images, but at some time I think I might try working on the trees to get a better blend.
